Abbey Neidik is an established Director and Producer with a career spanning
35 years and an oeuvre of over seventy films, including two Academy
Award nominees.
In 1980 Neidik and his partner Irene Angelico formed DLI Productions.
Together they produced and directed Dark Lullabies / Berceuses
Sombres which has been shown in 26 countries around the
world and won numerous first prizes and prestigious awards.
Neidik is the winner of two Canadian Genie Awards for A
Song For Tibet, and Volcano: An Inquiry Into The
Life And Death Of Malcolm Lowry.
In 1992, he directed Between The Solitudes / Entre Solitudes,
which was nominated for two Gemeaux Awards for Best Documentary
and Best Editing.
1998 saw the release of two highly successful DLI features. The
Love Prophet and the Children of God is an inside look
at one of today's most controversial religious cults and was awarded
a Gold Plaque in Chicago. The Cola Conquest, a
three-part documentary special, garnered Best Documentary Series
by an Independent at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto, a Silver
Hugo in Chicago, a Gold Apple in San Francisco, a Gemini nomination
for Best Documentary Series and a Gemini Award for Best Writing
in a Documentary or Series.
The Journey Home: A Romanian Adoption, co-produced
and directed by Neidik in 2000, is a tender and emotional film about
Romanian orphans a decade after the fall of Ceausescu.
In 2003, Neidik co-directed and co-produced She Got Game:
Behind the Scenes of the Women's Tennis Tour, a unique,
behind-the-scenes look at women's tennis that has already received
four international awards.
Current projects include Vendetta Song, which
examines the tradition of honour killings of rural Kurdish tribes
in Turkey; Inside the Great Magazines, a three-part
special about the inner workings of the magazine industry and the
people who create them. Neidik recently completed Unbreakable
Minds, a poignant film that aims to de-stigmatize and humanize
mental illness.

BOBBI JO KRALS is an award-winning Director,
Producer and President
of Esperanto Productions Inc.
, a documentary television production company founded in 1997.
Krals has also been a board member of Women in Film & Television and is a member of the Documentary
Association of Canada.
Krals co-directed and co-produced She Got Game: Coming of Age on the WTA Tour,
a unique, behind-the-scenes look at women's tennis that aired in Canada on the
LIFE Network (English), and in French on CBC/Radio-Canada and TFO. The film has
already received four international awards and screened at over a dozen festivals
worldwide.
Krals previously produced and directed a one-hour documentary film called SHRINKAGE,
which follows the irreverent journey of aspiring stand-up comic Sherry Shaw-Froggatt.
Sherry was recently diagnosed with manic depression and sees humour as an antidote,
turning her ailment into a comedic mission to break down stigmas about mental illness
across North America. SHRINKAGE aired on CBC, Vision TV and SCN and includes cameos
with renowned comedians such as Kathy Kinney (The Drew Carey Show) and Eric Idle.
Krals also directed and co-produced the award-winning half-hour documentary shot in
Pakistan called A Calling to Care.
Bobbi Jo has also filmed on location in Romania, Harlem, Zimbabwe, Canada and Guatemala
for the Gemini-nominated 13-part documentary series Rainmakers (Adobe Productions for
CBC, TFO-TV Ontario, Vision TV, YTV, SCN, Canal Vie) and for the one-hour documentary
Ray Bradbury : An American Icon (WIC/Great North Productions for CTV, Sci-Fi Channel),
which was shot in Paris, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and New York. She also worked on
the irreverent one hour television special This Thing Called Love (Great North Productions
for CTV), which took an offbeat look at love in the 90`s. Bobbi Jo field-produced for
Harrowsmith Country Life (Stone Soup Productions for The Discovery Channel), and worked
on location in Los Angeles for the series On the Internet (Cochran Entertainment for The Discovery Channel & PBS).
Prior to her directing and producing career, Bobbi Jo worked for many years as a unit
publicist on many film and tv projects including: the drama series Destiny Ridge (Great
North Productions for CanWest Global, starring Laurie Holden (she starred opposite Jim
Carrey in The Majestic, released in 2002); the NFB documentary Born at Home and Out:
Stories of Lesbian & Gay Youth; the feature film Sleepless (starring Michael Ironside,
Kate Vernon, Craig T. Nelson, M. Emmet Walsh); the CBC youth series Northwood, Spoils of
War (Elise Productions for ABC; Hallmark Hall of Fame starring Kate Nelligan, John Heard,
Rhea Perlman); Black Fox Trilogy (RHI International for CBS, starring Christopher Reeve &
Tony Todd); and the feature film Samurai Cowboy (SABAN International starring Robert
Conrad, Hiromi Go, Matt McCoy, Catherine Mary Stewart).
