| Between The Solitudes follows journalist
Josh Freed on a personal journey through English-speaking Montreal,
its history, its haunts, its characters, and the difficulties and
delights experienced in trying to straddle two solitudes.
From the elegant St. Andrew's Debutante Ball, to the basketball
courts of the working-class Point St. Charles, from the bi-cultural
young Anglos living around Boulevard St-Laurent, to the flood of
bilingual students who are leaving the province, the film depicts
a troubled community caught between French Quebec and English Canada.
Between The Solitudes is a sometimes angry, often funny, always
affectionate portrait of a vibrant French city seen through the
eyes of its English-speaking minority.
